When corruption is the foundation of state power, anti-corruption campaigners are labeled extremists. Last night, a court in Moscow declared the ACF and Navalny’s network of regional headquarters extremist organizations. I’m not even going to discuss the legal side of the farce that in Russia is called a “court.” Suffice it to say that all the case materials were classified as a STATE SECRET. The proceedings were closed. And I myself not only did not take part in them, although we demanded that I should—I wasn’t even invited. And why invite Navalny? After all, the court was supposedly considering only the ACF, founded by A. Navalny. And then there’s also this thing called “Navalny’s headquarters.” So what could he possibly have to do with it, and why would he need to speak in this court? It is highly symbolic that Putin was represented in this process by Moscow prosecutor Popov. He was the one who took the initiative and, on behalf of the state, went to court to have us officially declared extremists. Watch our investigation about him (link in Stories). He steals, takes bribes, and squeezes ordinary Russian citizens dry. He invests the money in villas and hotels in Spain and Montenegro. He moved his family there too. And here he walks around in a blue uniform, protecting Putin’s and his officials’ right to live like this—robbing the country and its people to fund their luxurious lives. What difference does it make what we are called? ACF or not ACF. Headquarters or not headquarters. We are not a name, not a piece of paper, and not an office. We are a group of people who bring together and organize those Russian citizens who are against corruption, for fair courts, and for equality before the law. There are millions of them. You are among them. As long as you exist, we are not going anywhere. Now we will figure everything out. We will sort things out. We will change. We will evolve. We will adapt. But we will not abandon our goals or our ideas. This is our country, and we have no other. So please stay with us. Follow what we do, and support us. We are really going to need that support. And by the way, sign up and take part in “Smart Voting” in the State Duma (lower house of Russia’s parliament) elections this fall. I am convinced that all this rush is connected to the authorities being terrified of “Smart Voting.” Link in bio.
