That moment when you ask the lawyers who’ve come to see you, “So, how’s life on the outside?” And they say, “Oh, nothing much, same as always.” And then after a pause: “Ah, right. They’ve opened a new case against you! Creating an extremist organization! That carries up to 10 years!” Turns out that for the past seven years, I’ve apparently been “destabilizing the situation in the regions and actively calling for terrorist activity.” Well, okay. So now there are four cases against me. Two of them carry up to 10 years each. The third carries up to 3 years. The fourth is up to 6 months of arrest. If they stack them without credit, that’s 23 years. Of course, they could still come up with something else, but even so, the maximum total sentence for multiple convictions is no more than 30 years. So don’t worry, I’ll be out no later than spring 2051 😉
