So then? My dear friends, are we going to follow Britney Spears’s example and do it again? We crushed Putin’s party, United Russia, in the election with our “Smart Voting,” but the guys in the Kremlin simply falsified the results. They stole our candidates’ victories. So should we switch “Smart” back on for the next election, or is it pointless? Let’s put emotions aside and look at the hard numbers. What did Smart Voting do in the State Duma elections? It endorsed 225 candidates in 225 districts. Fifteen candidates were elected as deputies—7%. I should note that in the previous two Dumas (the lower house of Russia’s parliament), the number of such victories was zero. Another 169 candidates came in second. So altogether, first and second places account for 82% of our list. And that is AFTER the falsifications. And if you count honestly, we won 40 to 45 seats. In other words, we genuinely routed the authorities despite an uneven playing field. Now look at the image in the carousel. These are data from the best-known expert in election-results analysis. Relying purely on mathematics, he shows that United Russia lost its majority in the State Duma in this election. And then it stole it back. So here’s what I think. They’re still stealing, but we liked winning too, didn’t we? I’m getting tons of letters where people are practically squealing with excitement: “FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, THE PERSON I VOTED FOR WON!!! Then they stole his victory, but I know he won. I know that now I’m in the majority, and Putin is in the minority.” Let’s stay in the majority, guys. Let’s make it bigger. And in the next election, let’s do even better. Election fraud has its limits. And so does the people’s patience. We’ve got a great team: the ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation) works its tail off, and you just spread the word and vote. As for me, I’m just lounging around on my prison bunk and writing on Instagram. And it works. Let’s do it again 😉
