Tin Holocaust. Collectors will probably be thrilled. And in general, there’s artistic freedom and all that. But I caught myself thinking that I’d be absolutely furious over a set where Russian slaves are sitting in toy zindans (underground prison cells) behind miniature bars. Or tin Chechens cutting off the heads of Russian soldiers. Even if the blood is acrylic. But on the other hand, these cynical little soldiers remind us of the horrors of war, keep us from forgetting, and so on. So I’m not sure how to feel about toys like these.
