Something quite remarkable has happened. The Tagansky District Court has finally agreed to hear the lawsuit filed by m_gaidar over the unlawful liquidation of SPS (the Union of Right Forces, a Russian political party). The forces of evil, in the form of the sinister Gozmonitto,

did everything they could to prevent it: they squeezed and withheld documents however they could, etc. (details are in m_gaidar’s journal), but they got nowhere. The case will go forward. There is already at least one very major upside: Gozman, Surkov, Govorun, and the other comrades involved in liquidating SPS (the Union of Right Forces) will be called as witnesses in court. And if Surkov and Govorun manage to wriggle out of appearing and testifying, Gozman definitely will not. Gozman himself has been going around blabbing on every corner about how, where, and in what detail he conducted these “Kremlin negotiations”; let’s see how he denies his own words in court. We will have the pleasure of watching this gentleman lie and squirm after being warned about liability for giving false testimony. There is no way he can avoid lying (he is hardly going to explain how he received instructions to liquidate the party from the Kremlin Villains), and so, theoretically, we may later have a chance to go after Gozmonitto through criminal proceedings as well. That is pleasing. And, as Gaidar writes, a motion will be filed to suspend the liquidation procedure as an interim measure. And what does that mean, my young friends? It means that the splendid project “Right Cause,” as Parker puts it, is kaza boldu (slang of Turkic origin meaning “it’s finished” or “it’s done for”). If the party has not been liquidated, then the satanic Gozman and the other demons are still members of SPS, and therefore cannot participate in other parties or in congresses establishing other parties. Hence the illegitimacy of everything that has been done in the direction of “PD.” That’s how it is. Clearly, this state of affairs politicizes the process to the utmost, and the court’s decisions—both the final one and all procedural ones—will come under maximum pressure from the highest command levels. No one is indulging in rosy hopes, but the first attempt to poke this vile anthill with a stick has been a success.
