Today, as part of the Great Moscow Landing Party, I’m heading off to Kirov Region for the inauguration of belyh. Branded train Vyatka—brace yourself! Actually, I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time there since the New Year. You could say most of 2009. I even celebrated Christmas there. There’s a lot of interesting stuff, and I’ve decided to write a treatise called "100 Facts About Kirov Region". I’ll begin this work by publishing the following fact (hopefully the other 99 facts won’t be viewed through the prism of this one): 1. There are no fewer than two populated places in Kirov Region called "Sodom." ***(It would be interesting to know what the official demonym for the residents is. "Dear Sodomites"?) *By the way, I’ve noticed with some alarm that after just a couple of days in Kirov, I start copying that ridiculous Ural-Volga way of speaking. When instead of saying, "Where are you going?" you say, "So where are you off to, then?" Horrors. All that’s left is to buy a flat cap.
