Well then, my friends. Our VTB campaign could not go unnoticed. VTB itself has now responded. Here is a post by Oleg Anisimov, editor-in-chief of Finans magazine and a member of VTB’s Shareholders’ Advisory Council. VTB top managers respond to Navalny’s accusations He (Anisimov) was present at the council’s meeting with the bank’s management and asked about the “scandalous accusations.” Here is Andrei Kostin, VTB’s president, quoted directly: *Our position is this: the director of VTB Leasing has been dismissed, not only because of this, but dismissed overall. The deal, however, is not dead—I spoke with Miller about it. We are now working on disposing of the remaining equipment. We contacted law enforcement, but they do not see grounds for opening criminal cases. None of my colleagues sitting here took any money. If there is information that someone abused their position or anything of the sort, we will gladly review it and hand it over to the Interior Ministry. We are absolutely ready here... It takes up a great deal of time... For now, we are occupied with reclaiming the equipment that was not used and trying to place it with major companies such as Rosneft and Gazprom through leasing arrangements. I think that overall, in this deal, we will manage to avoid any major losses. *So there you have it. We have barely even begun the process of poking the VTB people with a sharpened stick while shouting “Hey! Hit them! Turumbey!” and they have already admitted that: the deal was carried out with violations (one of the reasons the head of VTB Leasing was fired); the only thing they are trying to do is “avoid major losses”; they are trying to sell the units lying under the snow, rather than lease them out. Their excuses about the price of the equipment sound like absolute mumbling from hell (is that even a phrase?): if you have proof, then give us the documents, we’ll review them, and so on. The key phrase for us from Kostin is: “If there is information that someone abused their position or anything of the sort, we will gladly review it and hand it over to the Interior Ministry. We are absolutely ready here...” Well, we are absolutely ready too (smiley). Kostin has already received the full set of documents with substantial evidence, as confirmed by the postal receipt. Inside VTB, my letter has been assigned an incoming registration number, and so on. We are very much awaiting an official appeal by VTB’s management to law enforcement.
