The RosPil website http://rospil.info/ has been down for two days already because of a DDoS attack. I don’t really understand this stuff at all, but as it was explained to me, at first it was a standard attack, which we handled by upgrading the system and filtering requests through the firewall. Now there’s some kind of syn-flood attack, which is harder to deal with. I honestly don’t understand the point of these attacks. It’s pointless stupidity. So the site is down for two days. It got DDoSed. We’ll just get it back up. The technical fix costs $500. A couple of days of work. And our little RosPil will be up and running again. The fact that it was unavailable for two days (or even two weeks, for that matter) changes nothing. All these DDoS attacks are a scam and a con. Some crafty bespectacled types pretending to be hackers are fleecing movie-fed clients out of money. To the dear crooks who ordered the DDoS attack on RosPil: The people who advised you to do it, and the people carrying it out, are just as crooked as you are. Money thrown away. All you’re doing for us is giving us more publicity.
