I spent two days in Yekaterinburg; it was my first time there. Leonid Volkov leonwolf invited me, and many thanks to him for that. It’s a wonderful city with a vibrant political life and lots of very forward-thinking activists, journalists, and civic advocates. I couldn’t figure out what the proper short name for the city is — "Yoburg" or "Yekat." The verdict from the local public: Whatever a Muscovite calls it, we’re not going to like it anyway. I’ll write more details later; for now, here are a couple of photos:
