(image by avmalgin) Russian businessmen Roman Abramovich and Alisher Usmanov have made it into the top three richest people in the United Kingdom. The most successful businessman turned out to be Alisher Usmanov, a Russian living in Britain. The founder of Metalloinvest climbed six places over the year and took second place in this year's list. In fact, as journalists calculated, he doubled his fortune, which now stands at £12.4 billion (more than $20 billion). Right behind him is former governor of Chukotka (a remote region in Russia's Far East) Roman Abramovich. It was Abramovich whom Usmanov pushed out of second place in the ranking of Britain's richest residents. According to reports, Abramovich now has a fortune of £10 billion (about $16.4 billion). Next up is the creation of a regional branch of Putin's Front in the canton of Zug, Switzerland, with local cells in Geneva and Basel. The man responsible for organizing it is "Front member" Gena Timchenko. What remains unclear is where another fan of V. V. Putin—Monsieur Deripaska—will open his branch of the Front.
