So then, shall we keep striking at the regime of Crooks and Thieves with note, rhyme, and music stand?
We sang and danced pretty well in the music video contest against the Party of Crooks and Thieves, so why not sing even better for the March 4 and 18 elections? All the more so because the occasion and the reasons remain the same: the crooks have nominated their candidate for President of the Russian Federation—V. V. Putin. And as everyone knows, V. V. Putin fears two things most of all: 1) having to live on a single salary, and 2) our cheerful internet trash. What’s more, those two things are connected: the more cheerful internet trash there is against V. V. Putin, the closer the moment when V. V. Putin will finally have to live on a single salary. So, I hereby announce the vocal-musical-visual contest “Your Song Is Sung.” The contest accepts music videos whose purpose is to stir disgust in citizens toward the leader of the Party of Crooks and Thieves—citizen Putin—by telling the truth about him and his filthy little deeds. A call for viewers to come to the upcoming March elections and vote against Putin, the Crooks and Thieves’ candidate, is highly desirable. Whether you do this through a direct appeal or a subtle artistic device is up to you. The video must contain original footage and an original song. The winners will receive: - the love of the people; - honor and respect; - the joy of labor; - pleasure and fun from the process of making the video; - cash prizes: 1st place — 150,000 rubles 2nd place — 100,000 rubles 3rd place — 50,000 rubles Where’s the money coming from? Same place as last time. A sponsor is invited. Last time it was chich8. As before, the only condition for sponsorship is that it not be anonymous. In other words, you have to state your name: I, so-and-so, am putting up my 300,000 rubles for the contest, and I’m not afraid to say so. For now there is no sponsor, so I guarantee the prize fund myself. Out of Brazilian intelligence money. Get started, my friends. Starting February 1, we will begin accepting and publishing videos. You can create at your own pace for two weeks and still make it into the first releases. I took into account some of the problems from the previous contest, so I decided that I would not personally handle the submission process and correspondence with authors—unfortunately, that led to some videos sitting unpublished for two weeks. That will not happen again: administration will be handled by a group of volunteers, which I’m putting together by February 1, and at that point I’ll also announce the various technical participation requirements. But you can start writing/filming right now without worry: in any case, what will be needed is a YouTube video that matches the goal stated above.
