Nothing to add, nothing to take away. Meanwhile, Putin’s previous article, on the national question, is having some interesting political consequences. On Saturday, the most representative conference of nationalist-patriotic forces in quite some time was held at the House of Writers. A short photo report. Full video. The main issue under discussion was nationalists’ participation in the civic protest movement and their relations with political forces from other camps — liberals and the left. The discussion was long and substantive; they even invited political figures of other ideological persuasions to speak — Garry Kasparov, for example. The outcome of the discussion: an overwhelming majority of participants supported active nationalist participation in civic protest actions in general, and in the “For Fair Elections” rallies in particular.
