So you can see how many people from your region are taking part in the project and join them. We are not giving anyone the data, because there is a risk that the database could end up in the hands of provocateurs/crazies/crooks, but we can connect you into a regional group on Facebook or VKontakte, where you can organize yourselves. So far, things are looking pretty bleak in the Caucasus: (sorted by number of observers, fourth column)
Hey, Caucasus, are you all really giving 146% to the Crooks and Thieves (a mocking reference to Russia’s ruling party and implausibly inflated election results)? Chechnya is understandable—there aren’t really elections there, they prepare the final protocol right away—but in Dagestan or Karachay-Cherkessia, people could at least do some monitoring. A short FAQ has also appeared on the site. We’ll soon put together a schedule for observer training: we won’t organize it ourselves, but we will gather in one place all the information from friendly projects. If there won’t be any in-person training in your city, we’ll offer an online course. It contains the same lectures recorded on video. We hope that in the near future the good people who have taken on the task of creating a mobile app for observers will present it. Register, citizens—don’t leave it until the last minute. We still have a colossal amount of work ahead of us to obtain documents for observers and assign them. Let’s not create the hell of the last week and do everything well in advance.
