In Kirov, during a break in the court hearing on my case, I got some joyful news:
Dr. Haider has started eating again
United Russia member and former deputy Vladimir Pekhtin is suing me to defend his honor and dignity.
So apparently he has finished transferring his American real estate from himself to his son, and now wants to tell us: see, there’s nothing there after all.
MOSCOW, April 26. Former State Duma deputy and United Russia member Vladimir Pekhtin intends to file a lawsuit to defend his honor and dignity against opposition politician Alexei Navalny. The official announced this during a press conference in Moscow. "I will file the lawsuit against Mr. Navalny... Perhaps I’ll claim Mr. Navalny’s annual income," Pekhtin said, noting that he had not originally planned to do so. "As for Vladimir Pekhtin’s return to the State Duma, Vladimir Alekseyevich remains on United Russia’s electoral list, and if he wishes to continue working in parliament, that opportunity will always be open to him," Neverov told reporters on Friday. He is confident that if Pekhtin goes to court with a lawsuit to defend his honor and dignity, he has all the arguments and evidence needed to win the case against those who publish unverified information with the sole aim of undermining people’s trust in the authorities. * Well, what can I say? Excellent. I love this sort of thing, and although I don’t yet know where this hearing will take place — in Moscow or in Miami, where Mr. Pekhtin lives — I will take part in this wonderful proceeding with enormous pleasure. Update: Naryshkin has offered Pekhtin a position as his adviser http://www.gazeta.ru/politics/news/2013/04/26/n_2877837.shtml
