1. I’m very happy to oblige the request to promote the Forum of Municipal Deputies.

On June 15, 2013 (Saturday), the 4th Forum of Moscow Municipal Deputies will take place in Moscow. At the Izmailovo Hotel, Vega building, Fantaziya Hall (the name is a perfect fit for any event about local self-government in Moscow). Start time: 12:00; press registration begins at 11:00. More than 500 municipal deputies from every district of Moscow will attend the Forum. The program includes: Developing a position on supporting candidates for Mayor of Moscow in the September 8, 2013 election. Discussing the interim results of the local self-government reform in Moscow. Monitoring how funds allocated for improvements in Moscow districts are being spent. Exchanging experience among deputies. I’ll be there too — thanks to the event organizer, Mikhail Velmakin, for the invitation. Unfortunately, the Forum cannot accommodate everyone who would like to attend, so entry is limited to municipal deputies with ID. Press admission is by accreditation. sovmundep@gmail.com One more important thing. “City Projects,” run by max**katz (who, by the way, is also a municipal deputy) and varlamovru, has run out of money. Here, max**katz himself makes a plaintive appeal. And** here’s var**lamovru. **Without any irony, I can say that “City Projects” is an outstanding and extremely useful initiative, and their project to invite world experts to prepare the report “Transport in Moscow” is simply brilliant. What’s more, they spend the money they raise quite carefully and transparently, and they report on it. I’m sending them 10,000 rubles (about 250 USD at the time), and I consider it an excellent, effective investment.

You can also toss a little money to those funny shaggy guys; all the instructions are here: http://maxkatz.livejournal.com/169221.html http://zyalt.livejournal.com/798332.html
