Amazing things are happening in the "judicial" "system." A few days ago, I learned that the hearing on my appeal against the verdict in the "Kirovles case" would take place at the Kirov Regional Court on October 9. But even earlier, an appeal hearing had been scheduled for that same October 9 in Moscow regarding the opening of another criminal case against me — the "Yves Rocher" case. The Moscow City Court and the Kirov Regional Court are courts of equal standing, but the hearing in Moscow had been scheduled first, so my lawyers and I notified the Kirov Regional Court that we would not be coming and asked for the hearing to be postponed. This morning, my lawyer got a call from the Moscow City Court saying that, "at the request of the Kirov Regional Court," the hearing had been postponed and that we were supposed to go to Kirov instead. They even sent over a fax:

We curse, rush off to buy tickets, and I tweet that after all, I’m going to Kirov on the 9th. Fifteen minutes after the tweet and media reports on the subject, a judge from the Moscow City Court calls my lawyer and says that all of this was a mistake and that on the 9th we need to appear in court in Moscow. And once again they send a fax:

Of course, I’m flattered to be such a sought-after criminal that the courts are practically competing over me. But I do wish the shaman giving orders to the courts would finally make up his mind. The owner of the fur vault keeps ticket prices reliably high, and buying and returning tickets ten times over gets pretty expensive. Judging by the latest piece of paper, it looks like I’m not going to Kirov on the 9th after all.
