On October 21, we launched our project against pension theft http://pension.fbk.info On the very day of the launch, around 10,000 emails were sent to State Duma deputies, and as of now the total has exceeded 20,000. As you may remember, this time we decided to use an online advertising campaign and run Google contextual ads. Together we raised 248,000 rubles (about $7,700 at the time), of which 130,000 rubles (about $4,000) has so far been spent on Google AdWords. Thanks to the campaign, 24,500 people came to our site: 5.19 rubles per click, which, according to advertising specialists, is quite good. The ads ran for 5 days. Thank you to everyone taking part in the campaign. That covers the online side. Now for the offline side and paper letters.
We delivered about 900 paper letters to the State Duma reception offices. From individual citizens — 445 in total, matching the number of deputies:
And 445 appeals from the non-profit Anti-Corruption Foundation, one for each deputy, including appeals addressed to faction leaders and Naryshkin. The appeals from private individuals were accepted without incident, but they persistently tried to refuse the appeals from ACF: “We’re not taking that many.” Our staff had to film the process, and that motivated the reception office to be a bit more accommodating.
In the end, our appeals were accepted. Foundation staff have already started receiving calls from deputies’ reception offices asking whether we had in fact submitted them. Then we all waited for Monday, October 25, to see whether the threat of becoming the enemies of 25 million people would make any impression on the current deputies. Alas. Once again, we learned that United Russia deputies understand perfectly well that they received their mandates not from the public, but from their one and only voter

Unfortunately, there were also a few petty defectors among A Just Russia and the Communists. There were 7 of them in A Just Russia and 1 in the Communist Party. The LDPR, as always at important moments like this, did not vote. Just as well.
One very important thing that, to a large extent, allows United Russia deputies not to fear public anger is this: only 9% of Russians know well that their pension savings are about to be taken over by United Russia, while 32% have “heard something” about it. That is not enough. The direct victims of this theft will be 25 million people. That is a huge number, especially considering that this is the active working-age population. We know for certain that those who were aware of what was happening consider it theft.
