Two deputies from the United Russia faction got into a fight in the State Duma on the evening of December 3.

As Interfax reports, the scuffle involved lawmakers Alexei Zhuravlev and Adam Delimkhanov. According to Zhuravlev’s press secretary, the fight broke out at around 5:45 p.m. in the elevator lobby on the 15th floor of the new State Duma building. Zhuravlev told Kommersant that Delimkhanov attacked him during an argument over several official initiatives. In particular, Delimkhanov was outraged by a parliamentary inquiry filed by Zhuravlev, in which he asked for a review of the legality of unveiling a monument to Chechen women from the village of Dadi-Yurt who died resisting the Russian army during the 19th-century Caucasian War. The Chechen deputy was also displeased by a tweet from Zhuravlev in which he questioned the legality of former Alpha Group officers training Chechnya’s special forces. “After I asked, ‘What, is Chechnya not part of the Russian Federation?’ he suddenly struck me on the head with his fist, and I began defending myself,” Zhuravlev said. Then, according to him, “Adam Sultanovich dropped a gold pistol—I don’t know where it came from—and we decided to stop everything.” An ambulance had to be called to assist the injured. There is no precise information about the deputies’ condition. According to Zhuravlev, he is “alive and well,” but “looks bad”. http://lenta.ru/news/2013/12/03/fight/ This State Duma should be dissolved. Some of the deputies should be put on trial, some sent to the circus, and some to a clinic (for experiments).
