1/19 За два тюремных года моя единственная по-настоящему оригинальная история — про психа. Все остальное много раз было и много раз описано.

2/19 Откройте любую книжку советского диссидента, и там будет бесконечное ШИЗО, голодовки, насилие, провокации, отсутствие медицинской помощи и т. д. Ничего, в общем, нового. Но вот про психа действительно новенькое, по крайней мере, я такого не встречал и не слышал.

3/19 Что такое штрафной изолятор, где я безвылазно сижу? Это узкий коридор с камерами по обе стороны. Металлические двери звук почти не задерживают, а над дверьми отверстия вентиляции, поэтому два человека, сидящие в камерах напротив, могут переговариваться, даже не повышая голос

4/19 Именно по этой причине в камере напротив моей никогда никого не было, и в моей секции ШИЗО на восемь камер тоже. Я там один и за все время ни разу не видел других проштрафившихся (ну, кроме сокамерника-тракториста, конечно).

5/19 А потом, около месяца назад, в камеру напротив вселили психа. Я сначала думал, что он симулирует. Уж очень активный и карикатурный.

6/19 Скажите ребенку: изобрази сумасшедшего. Вот он примерно это и изобразит. Вопли, рычание, удары, лай, спор с самим собой тремя разными голосами. Только у моего психа еще 70% слов нецензурные.

7/19 В сети много роликов о тех, кто считает, что в них вселились демоны и черти. Вот очень похоже — периодически включается рычащий утробный вопль (мой любимый из трех его образов) и не выключается часами.

8/19 Поэтому я и перестал думать, что он симулянт, — не сможет нормальный человек в течение месяца каждый день орать по 14 часов днем и по 3 часа ночью. И когда я говорю «орать», я имею в виду такой ор, от которого у орущего вздуваются вены на шее.

9/19 Ну и вот. Месяц я просто офигеваю и каждую проверку начинаю с требования убрать куда-нибудь психа. Ночью невозможно спать, а днем читать. Они не убирают и как-то особенно подчеркивают: он такой же осужденный, как и вы.

10/19 И тут выясняется прекрасное: псих сидел (срок 24 года, убил кого-то, весьма вероятно, и съел) в другом месте, и месяц назад его специально перевезли к нам, и теперь постоянно держат в ШИЗО, чтобы он, так сказать, не давал мне скучать.

11/19 Вынужден признаться, что идея работает: ни скучать, ни нормально спать мне не приходится. Особенно классно болеть: днем маешься в камере с температурой и мечтаешь о ночи, когда отстегнут койку и дадут матрац, а ночью слушаешь бодрый лай соседа.

12/19 Как известно, лишение сна — одна из самых эффективных пыток, но формально не придерешься: такой же, как вы, тоже водворен в карцер, и администрация сама решает, по каким камерам и кого распределять. Но, как обычно, в таких ситуациях меня изумляет иное.

13/19 У них же план был, понимаете. Кто-то ведь придумал это и реализовал на областном или федеральном уровне — просто так зека не переведешь, есть правило отбывания всего срока в одной колонии.

14/19 И это ведь было указание сверху: прессуйте его. А генералы и полковники ниже проводили совещание: «Ну, что как прессовать будем?»

15/19 И кто-то, желая выделиться, сказал: «А у нас в такой-то зоне есть больной, он орет днями и ночами. Давайте его к Навальному». — Да, да. Прекрасная идея, товарищи офицеры. Товарищ полковник, приступайте и доложите о выполнении.

16/19 Я не удивлюсь, если они вообще взяли из тюремной больницы буйного, признали вменяемым, а теперь держат в камере напротив, чтобы он меня развлекал.

17/19 А мораль истории простая: тюремной системой России — ФСИНом — управляет реальное сборище не просто негодяев, а настоящих больных извращенцев.

18/19 У них же постоянно все с каким-то вывертом: все эти известные изнасилования швабрами, засовывания кипятильников в задний проход и т. д. Человеку плохому, но нормальному такое в голову не придет.

19/19 Все, что вы читаете об ужасах и фашистских преступлениях нашей тюремной системы, — все правда. С одной поправкой: реальность еще хуже.

3/22 So, let me give you an idea of the place where I sit all the time. It is a narrow corridor with cells on either side. The metal doors offer little to no soundproofing, plus there are ventilation holes above the doors,

4/22 so the two people sitting in the cells opposite can have a conversation without even raising their voices. This is the main reason why there has never been anyone in the cell opposite from mine, nor in my entire 8-cell section.

5/22 I was the only one there, and I had never seen any other punished convicts the whole time (well, except for my cellmate, the tractor driver, of course).

6/22 And then about a month ago, they put a psycho in the cell across from mine. At first I thought he was faking it. Very active and cartoonish.

7/22 If you tell a kid to act like a madman, that's about what he'll come up with. Screaming, growling, hitting, barking, arguing with himself in three different voices. But in the case of my psycho, 70% of the words are obscene.

8/22 There are a lot of videos online of people who think that they've been possessed by demons. This is very similar - the growling wail (my favorite of his three personas) comes on periodically and doesn't turn off for hours.

9/22 That's why I stopped to think he was a faker - no normal person can yell for 14 hours every day during the day and 3 hours at night for a month. And when I say "yell", I mean the kind of yelling that makes one's neck veins swell up.

10/22 For the past month, I've been going nuts and starting every checkup by demanding to transfer this lunatic somewhere else. It's impossible to sleep at night or read during the day. They don't transfer him, and they deliberately emphasize: he is a convict just like you.

11/22 And then I find out a wonderful detail: this nutcase was incarcerated (he got 24 years for killing someone) in another place, and a month ago they moved him here on purpose, and now they constantly keep him in a punishment cell, so that he, so to speak, keeps me entertained

12/22 I have to admit that this plan is working: I never get bored, not do I ever get a good night's sleep.

13/22 Sickness is especially cool: during the day you suffer in a cell with a fever and dream of the night when they lower your bunk bed and give you a mattress, and at night you listen to the cheerful barking of your neighbor.

14/22 As you know, sleep deprivation is one of the most effective tortures, but formally, I can't complain: he's an inmate like me, he was also put in a punishment cell, and it is up to the administration to decide who gets put in which cell.

15/22 But as usual in such situations I am amazed at something else. This was all planned, you know.

16/22 Someone thought of this and implemented it at the regional or federal level - you can't just transfer a convict for no reason at all, there's a rule about serving your whole term in one colony.

17/22 So there was an order from above: press him. And the generals and colonels at lower levels held a meeting: "So, how shall we press him?"

18/22 And someone, wanting to distinguish himself, said: "We have a madman in this and that prison, he screams day and night. Let's take him to Navalny." "Yes, yes. What a great idea, fellow officers. Comrade Colonel, proceed and report on the execution."

19/22 I won't be surprised if it turns out that they took a raving madman from a prison hospital, declared him sane, and now keep him in a cell across mine so that he can entertain me.

20/22 The moral of this story is simple: the Russian prison system, the Federal Penitentiary Service, is run by a real collection of not just scoundrels, but real sick perverts.

21/22 Everything in their system always has a sick twist: the infamous mop rapes, sticking boilers up people's anuses, etc. It wouldn't occur to a bad but sane person to do such a thing.

22/22 Everything you read about the horrors and fascist crimes of our prison system is all true. There's just one correction: the reality is even worse.
