1/13 Вопрос: в чем сходство всех зеков? Суровый нрав? Нет. Особенный взгляд, полный тоски и боли? Татуировки и тюремная феня? Абсолютно нет.

2/13 Зеков объединяет то, что у большинства из них нет зубов. Плохое питание, отсутствие твердой пищи, много сладкого (самая дешевая еда), много крепкого чая, курение и полное отсутствие стоматологической помощи делают свое дело.

3/13 Зубы, кстати, все чистят как бешеные - мамы и бабушки были бы довольны, но это не помогает. Тот, у кого заболели зубы, обречен на долгие мучения: “Стоматолог приедет к нам по графику. Через 4 месяца. Терпите”.

4/13 А когда стоматолог приедет, он просто вырвет зубы, так как у него нет оборудования. О проблеме я был наслышан, поэтому сразу решил, что буду, как на воле, выполнять стоматологическую заповедь и раз в год делать профчистку зубов и обследование.

5/13 Тюремные правила это прямо разрешают. Дополнительная медуслуга за свой счет. Плати, и тебя отвезут хоть на МРТ, хоть к зубному. В теории. Я больше года добиваюсь, чтобы меня свозили в обычную стоматологию в райцентр для процедуры за 5000 рублей.

6/13 У меня огромная папка справок и разрешений. Причем тюремные стоматологи честно пишут: профчистку зубов разрешаем, и в колонии ее сделать нельзя.

7/13 А колония улыбается в лицо и говорит: “Мы не против, но только в зоне. У нас есть стоматологическое кресло”. Кресло есть, оборудования нет. После осмотра стоматолог говорит: “Плюйте сюда”. И там на палке висит пакет со слюной. Все плюют сюда.

8/13 Я подаю в суд и говорю: “Но это же издевательство, в колонии этого сделать нельзя, тюремный стоматолог подтверждает”. На это следует гениальный ответ: “Ну а вы найдите стоматолога, который привезет все с собой”.

9/13 На это я беру справку в районной стоматологии, где говорят, что невозможно привезти оборудование в зону.

10/13 После чего колония приводит в суд какую-то тетку “эксперта”, которая сообщает, что профчистка эйр-флоу - это популярная процедура, но вообще-то чистку зубов можно провести железными крючками.

11/13 Почему в 2023 году я должен проводить чистку зубов железными крючками? Кажется, причина в том, что деньги, выделенные на нормальное стоматологическое кресло, во ФСИН просто украли.

12/13 И если везти меня в райцентр, то это значит признаться. Нет кресла, нет оборудования, и есть пакет со слюной на палке.

13/13 Поэтому, хоть речь идет о 20 минутах езды автозака и часовой процедуры за 5000 рублей, я сужусь по второму кругу и собираю справки. А пакет со слюной висит на палке, олицетворяя тюремную медицину России.

2/16 What brings prisoners together is that the majority of them have no teeth. Poor nutrition, lack of solid food, lots of sweets (the most affordable food), strong tea, smoking, and a complete absence of dental care are the factors responsible for this condition.

3/16 Everyone in the prison is brushing their teeth like crazy. Moms and grandmas would be satisfied, but it doesn't make any difference.

4/16 A person with dental issues in prison is destined for prolonged suffering. They say, "The dentist will come according to the schedule, in 4 months. Just bear with it."

5/16 But when the dentist eventually arrives, he or she simply pulls a tooth because there is no necessary equipment.

6/16 I had heard about this problem, so I immediately decided that I would faithfully adhere to the dental guidelines and have a dental checkup and professional cleaning once a year. The same as I did being outside of the prison.

7/16 Prison regulations permit this, as an additional medical service at your own expense. You pay, and they will transport you to an MRI or a dental clinic. In theory, it works this way.

8/16 For more than a year, I've been striving to get them to transport me to a regular dental clinic in the district center for a 5,000 ruble procedure.

9/16 I have an extensive collection of certificates and permissions. Additionally, the prison dentists candidly write, "We allow professional teeth cleaning, but it cannot be done within the colony."

10/16 Nonetheless, the colony officers just smile and say, "We don't mind, but you can do this only within the colony. We have a dental chair." The chair is here, but the equipment is lacking.

11/16 Following the examination, the dentist says, "Spit here," and there hangs a bag on a stick for everyone to spit into. I take the matter to court and argue, "This is a real mockery. It cannot be done within the colony, as confirmed by the prison dentist."

12/16 The response to this is brilliant: "Well, you can find a dentist who will bring all the necessary equipment here." So, I got a certificate from the district dental clinic, stating that it's impossible to bring the required equipment to the prison.

13/16 Subsequently, the colony brings in some "expert" lady to the court, who states that airflow dental treatment is a popular procedure, but, in general, teeth can be cleaned with iron hooks. Why, in 2023, should I have to brush my teeth with iron hooks?

14/16 The reason seems to be that the funds allocated for the purchase of a dental chair were simply stolen from the Federal Prison Service.

15/16 And if they were to transport me to the district center, that would mean admitting this fact. No chair, no equipment, just a bag on a stick filled with saliva.

16/16 Despite the relatively short 20-minute ride in transport and a one-hour procedure costing 5,000 rubles, I go for the second round and collect certificates again. The bag on a stick with saliva is a real symbol of Russian prison healthcare.
