For four years in a row now, on this day, I have posted the same video of a man being attacked and nearly killed in central Moscow.
Fortunately, the man survived, and over the past few months we have learned a great deal about how the attack was organized: who carried it out, who organized it, and who ordered it.
It would seem that everything is in place to end this tradition of reposting that video and watch a new one instead: footage from the criminals’ trial. But no—here, “the crime has been solved” does not mean “the criminals are in the dock.” So we have to watch this clip again and remember not only those who ordered the attack, but also those who covered it up.
