Now that’s speed. That’s what Prikhodko’s political influence, multiplied by Deripaska’s money, can do. As the saying goes, “even the oldest residents can’t remember anything like this.”
I had just sat down to write about how Roskomnadzor (Russia’s state media and internet regulator) demanded that Mediazona remove this photo from its article about our investigation.
And then Georgy Alburov found out that the Ust-Labinsk District Court in Krasnodar Krai had banned ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.
Not just the photographs, but also my text and even the YouTube video.
Here are screenshots from the “Unified Register of Prohibited Information.”
And apparently, my entire blog, navalny.com, has also been declared “information whose distribution is prohibited in the Russian Federation.”
As you can see, access hasn’t been restricted yet, but that’s exactly how it works: first they offer you the chance to delete everything voluntarily, and then they block it.
You may well ask: where even is Ust-Labinsk, and why is its local court banning everything at record speed and in the course of strange, secret hearings?
Let me explain: Ust-Labinsk is 1,300 km (about 810 miles) from Moscow, but this is the very city where a boy named Oleg Deripaska went to school. It is also the city where Deripaska pays most of his taxes and where, as Vedomosti reported, he even has the right to oversee the administration’s spending. This is also where Deripaska sues everyone (you can check the court’s website) and—remarkably—always wins!
It took the “court” less than a day to accept the paperwork and fully satisfy citizens Deripaska and Prikhodko. Those are the people who should be giving sex-training seminars—the judges of the Ust-Labinsk court, not Nastya Rybka.
But the ruling couldn’t even have entered into legal force yet! We weren’t notified about anything at all.
In Nastya Rybka’s case, we are left debating which term to use—“escort girl” or something else.
And looking at what is happening now, I can offer my value judgment: the judge of the Ust-Labinsk District Court who handed down the decision banning our investigation is a genuine prostitute, carrying out clients’ orders. Even Nastya Rybka would be ashamed to associate with someone like that.
In response to this outrageous and brazen act of censorship, I urge everyone to spread this video wherever possible. Let’s explain to Deripaska, Prikhodko, and all the crooks who serve them what the “Streisand effect” is.
