The German government today published a press release stating that the poison used to poison Alexei has been identified. It is a substance from the Novichok group.
A little later, Berlin’s Charité hospital released its fourth update on Alexei’s condition:
“The condition of Alexei Navalny, who has been receiving treatment at Charité, the university hospital in Berlin, since August 22, 2020, remains serious. The symptoms of cholinesterase inhibition caused by the confirmed poisoning continue to subside. The reason for this is the gradual recovery of cholinesterase activity.
Alexei Navalny is still being treated in intensive care and remains on mechanical ventilation. A prolonged course of illness should be expected. Long-term effects from the severe poisoning cannot be ruled out.
The treating physicians are in constant contact with Yulia Navalnaya. This update on his condition has been published with her consent. Charité assumes that making Alexei’s health status public is in his best interests.”
