I’m continuing to collect the abbreviations from the “Punishment” section of prison regulations. I’d already had SUON (strict conditions of serving a sentence), SHIZO (punitive isolation cell), and PKT (cell-type confinement unit). And yesterday, right after the appeal hearing in my case, they took me before a commission and informed me that, due to my incorrigibility, I would be transferred to EPKT (a unified cell-type confinement unit) for 12 months. So now I have a new cell and a new label on my back. A year in EPKT is the harshest punishment possible in penal colonies of any kind. I feel like a tired rock star on the verge of depression. I’ve reached the top of the charts, and there’s nothing left to strive for. Then again, it’s not that I soared to the top — I sank to the bottom. And as they say, there’s always someone knocking from below 😉
