Take FEP, for example. We tend to think they’re busy with serious matters. Helping the bloody regime carve up our country while explaining to us that it’s not looting, it’s “strengthening the vertical of power” (a Russian term for centralized top-down rule). But in reality, they’re just languishing there from idleness. The well-known Gazprom glory-boy leteha sent me a link over ICQ to some poems of his. I wrote back: "stop wasting time on nonsense, better write some verses about me" A minute later I get this: Navalny stepped into the arena, The OMON riot police unsheathed their batons. Everything in this world, brothers, is fleeting, And the tribune got smacked in the neck. Navalny walked sadly from the rally, While a cop, laughing, guzzled wine. Navalny was extremely gloomy And got shitfaced out of his mind. He called his friends, they brought vodka, Port, beer, and whiskey, Cognac, martini, two pickled herrings, They took a guitar too, just like old times. Drunk as pigs, they started raising hell, Shouting, "Bloody regime," and all that, And a whole lot of other stupid crap. So the cops were called in on them. The cops quickly hauled them in, Twisted them up, threw them in a basement, And immediately pulled out their batons… And then… then came the nightmare. So that’s FEP for you. Though on the other hand, you can tell that even when writing little verses, the FEP guys are still WRITING SCREENPLAYS (sic).
