Just like in a movie or a joke. I missed my train because I got stuck in an elevator. Let me report: getting stuck in a tiny elevator with three guys, two of them big vocational-school boys who had just eaten a kilo of onions each, is HELL—utter satanic hell and claustrophobic fascism. What’s interesting is that the temperature shot up to about 80°C (176°F) in ten minutes. Can you picture four men in warm clothes inside an elevator? Sweat was literally pouring down our faces. 35 minutes. It was not glamorous at all. Why couldn’t I have gotten stuck in an elevator with cheerful bikini models drinking champagne? Right now I’m sitting at the train station in a paid waiting room (25 rubles an hour) waiting for the Novy Urengoy train (it’s already an hour and ten minutes late). Unfortunately, the Novy Urengoy train differs from the "Vyatka" train I missed about as much as a big vocational-school boy who’s eaten onions differs from a champagne-drinking model.
